Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy 2019 Single Fin Division Highlights

Surfing legends Joel Parkinson (AUS), Kai Lenny (HAW), Matt Wilkinson (AUS) and Maldivian wildcard Mohamed Fayaz have arrived at Four Seasons Kuda Huraa to take on defending champion Josh Kerr (AUS) in the world’s most luxurious annual surfing contest: Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy. Today 8 August, the Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy got off to an incredible start today with racy overhead walls at Sultans providing the perfect canvas for some of surfing’s finest artisans to go to work on their single fins, in the first of three surfboard divisions. In a rematch of the 2012 Pipeline Masters final, which served as Australian Joel Parkinson’s world title coronation, Parkinson came up against lifelong friend and fellow Australian, Josh Kerr, who took the win. The Surfing Champions Trophy is hosted aboard Four Seasons Explorer – the Maldives’ ultimate surf vessel. Fans can get up close to the action with onboard VIP passes while the ‘surf tour’ experience continues with nightly events back at Four Seasons Kuda Huraa (5-12 August 2019), which plays host to the contest’s competitors, judges, and Tropicsurf partners. The epic one-of-a-kind event tests some of the world’s hottest surfing names, past and present, across three different divisions: single-fin, twin-fin and thruster.
